Jaxaay : un coiffeur interpellé pour viols répétitifs sur une mineure de 14 ans
The police station serving the Jaxaay, Niacoulrab, and Parcelles Assainies districts has arrested an individual accused of abducting a minor, repeated rapes, and pedophilia. The victim is a 14-year-old girl.
The case came to light following a complaint filed by the victim's mother on February 26, 2026. According to her statement, her daughter had been suffering from persistent stomach pains and had exhibited unusual behavioral changes since January. When questioned by her mother, the teenager eventually confessed to having been repeatedly sexually abused by a local hairdresser.
According to the victim's account, the events took place during her daily errands. While she was walking to the shop next to the hair salon, the suspect allegedly forced her inside the establishment on several occasions. He then took her to the bathroom where, according to the young woman, he forced her to have sexual intercourse on a mattress placed directly on the floor, despite her refusals.
Informed by her daughter, the mother first went to the suspect's home. Initially, he reportedly confessed, begging the mother not to alert the authorities and offering to cover the child's medical expenses. However, a few days later, the man recanted his confession, denying any relationship with the minor.
During her interview, the victim maintained her accusations, stating that she had been deflowered during the first encounter. She also provided a detailed description of the bathroom where the assaults took place. A site visit by investigators confirmed the accuracy of her description.
Following a request addressed to a qualified doctor, the certificate issued by the gynecologist at the Keur Massar hospital center indicates old hymenal tears.
The suspect has been taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing.
