Journée internationale des droits de la femme : La police met ses héroïnes à l’honneur
Like the international community, the Regional Public Security Service of Dakar celebrated International Women's Day on March 8th with a meeting for discussion and reflection on the role and challenges of female police officers.
Organised in the premises of the training department, the activity brought together the female staff of the Regional Public Security Service of Dakar around the theme "The female police officer: between professional obligations and family responsibilities".
The theme was developed by Chief Superintendent of Police Tabara Ndiaye, the day's panelist. During her presentation, she highlighted the demands of the police profession, while emphasizing the specific challenges women face in carrying out their duties, particularly balancing professional responsibilities with family obligations.
The meeting also saw the effective presence of the Inspector General of Police Anna Sémou Faye, the Divisional Commissioner of Police Mamadou Tendeng, head of the Regional Public Security Service of Dakar, as well as the heads of services attached to the central police station of Dakar and pioneers of the national police.
On this occasion, they shared their experiences and expertise with the audience. Their testimonies provided avenues for reflection to help female police officers find the right balance between professional demands and family responsibilities, Seneweb learned from the National Police's Communication and Public Relations Division.
This celebration was therefore intended as a moment of recognition, transmission of experience and appreciation of the essential role of women within the national police force.
