Elements of the Kaffrine Regional Narcotics Brigade of the OCRTIS carried out a raid in the Malem Hodar department in the early morning of October 1, 2025. A sixty-year-old man was arrested in possession of drugs and a firearm.

An intervention at dawn

It was at 6 a.m. sharp on Tuesday, October 1, 2025, that specialized police officers from the Regional Narcotics Brigade of the Central Office for the Suppression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS) of Kaffrine struck a major blow in the village of Boulel Ndoucoumane, in the department of Malem Hodar according to Seneweb sources.

The operation, carried out masterfully, led to the arrest of an individual suspected of drug trafficking in the area.

A complete arsenal seized

During the arrest, the police conducted a thorough search which proved successful. The suspect had in his possession:

2 kilograms of Indian hemp

1 cone of Indian hemp

2 pairs of scissors

1 12 gauge shotgun

Age: 65 years old

Declared profession: Farmer

Home: Boulel Ndoucoumane (his native village)

This case presents two distinct criminal aspects:

Drug trafficking: With more than 2 kilograms of Indian hemp.

Illegal possession of a firearm: The 12-gauge shotgun discovered in the suspect's possession constitutes an additional offense. Without a legal license to carry a firearm, this possession exposes the defendant to separate criminal prosecution.
