What began as a case of assault and battery has turned into a tragedy. Omar Ba, held in custody at the Ndorong district police station in Kaolack, now faces a significantly more serious case. The victim, Dakha Sarr, has succumbed to his injuries. According to Seneweb sources, the accused is now being charged with murder.

The incident dates back to March 1, 2026. Around 9:30 p.m., the Ndorong district police station was alerted to an altercation involving a bladed weapon in Sara. Upon arriving at the scene, officers from the Criminal Investigation Brigade discovered Dakha Sarr, 26, suffering from a serious stab wound to the abdomen.

The alleged perpetrator, Omar Ba, had fled but was quickly caught thanks to the support of the Urban Corps and taken to the police station.

Evacuated urgently by firefighters to the El Hadji Ibrahima Niass Regional Hospital, Dakha Sarr unfortunately did not survive his injuries.

After a brief hearing, Omar Ba admitted to the acts, explaining that he acted in response to violence the victim had allegedly inflicted on her younger sister, with whom she was in a romantic relationship. The knife used was seized and confiscated.

Initially detained for assault and battery with a bladed weapon, Omar Ba is now being prosecuted for murder. The public prosecutor has been informed and the investigation is ongoing.

Paix à son âme ! Il faut être responsable quand on a des enfants ! Je ne sais pas quel âge a la sœur en question. Mais 25 ans, c’est l’âge de se marier et d’avoir des enfants. Donc, en tant que parent, quand vous voyez un jeune homme de 25 and aborder votre fille, il faut intervenir vous-même sans trainer et ne pas laisser un autre enfant tenter de régler l’affaire ! C’est les parents qui auraient dû appeler la victime depuis très longtemps pour lui demander ses intentions avec leur fille puis la lui donner en mariage s’il a les moyens ou un métier, s’il suit bien la religion et la fille est d’acford. Dans le cas, contraire, demander au garçon de laisser tranquille leur fille, leur interdire de se voir puis porter plainte s’il ne s'exécute pas. Être parent, ce n’est pas une mince affaire, il faut beaucoup apprendre d’abord et être prêt à adosser le rôle de parents prêts à accompagner et proteger vos enfants tout au long de leur vie. À mon avis ce drame aurait pu être évité si les parents avaient joué leur vrai rôle.
