Kaolack : Renouvellement du Bureau de la CJRS – Modou Séne succède à Ousmane Sarr

The Senegalese Young Reporters Convention (CJRS) renewed its central zone unit this weekend, which covers the regions of Kaolack, Kaffrine, Fatick, and Diourbel. By consensus, the central zone reporters elected APS correspondent in Diourbel, Modou Séne, as their new head. The central section of the CJRS held its general meeting to renew its bureau. The new bureau includes the following members:

Modou Séne, APS correspondent in Diourbel, president;

Mor Ka, Secretary General;

Alioune Badara Diop, general treasurer;

Ndeye Astou Mbaye, communications officer;

Alhassane Ba, zonal coordinator;

Balla Touré, in charge of organizations.

The executive board congratulated outgoing President Ousmane Sarr and his team for the work accomplished during their term. Modou Séne, the newly elected president, emphasized that "we intend to rely on three main levers. First, continuing education, which has always been the linchpin of the Convention at the central zone level. We will continue this and give it a new dynamic in order to strengthen the capacities of journalists, to better equip them to deal with the phenomenon of disinformation and harmful practices that compromise the proper functioning of journalism. Then, we will place particular emphasis on solidarity and mutual aid. This is an aspect that is particularly close to my heart, because I am convinced that the central zone is strategic and full of many potentials."
