Kartia (Sedhiou) : un enfant de 6 ans perd la vie par noyade
The village of Kartia, located in the commune of Dianah Ba (Sédhiou department), is plunged into mourning after the tragic death of a 6-year-old boy. He went swimming in the river with three of his friends, but was tragically swept away by the current before the helpless eyes of his companions.
The alarm was raised by a fisherman who discovered the lifeless body floating on the surface. Following the intervention of officers under the command of the gendarmerie brigade leader, Saliou Gueye, the body was transported to the regional hospital in Sédhiou. After standard procedures were followed, the body was released to the family for burial, leaving the community in shock at this sudden loss.
