Kayar : "J'ai eu des rapports consentis avec elle", selon le soudeur accusé du viol d'une mineure de 14 ans
The Kayar gendarmerie brigade arrested and placed in police custody yesterday, Wednesday, the 20-year-old metal welder, SMR Niang, for rape followed by pregnancy of a 14-year-old minor named A. Dieng. The suspect, who lives in the commune of Diender, confessed to having had consensual sexual relations with the victim on two occasions.
Father's complaint reveals pregnancy
On September 10, 2025, the victim presented herself to the Kayar police station, accompanied by her father, Birame Dieng. The latter told the police that his daughter had been raped and subsequently impregnated. This triggered an investigation. The results of the requisition sent to the chief doctor of the Pout district confirmed a scarred hymen, previous penetration, and a 15-week pregnancy.
The suspect's partial confession
Faced with investigators, the suspect, SMR Niang, partially admitted the facts, according to Seneweb sources close to the prosecution. He stated that he had sexual relations with the victim on two occasions, but that they were consensual.
But this version of events cannot, however, mask the legal reality: in Senegalese law, any sexual intercourse with a minor under 14 constitutes rape, regardless of the notion of consent which cannot be invoked at this age.

Le senegalè est un sacrè être human. Tu violes une jeune fille de 14 et tu parles de consentement. IL n y a pas de consentement avec une personne de moons de 18 ans. Si c est un viol, l age importe peu. Le viol est un crime. C est fait contre la volontè de la personne. Nul n est sense ignorer la loi. Je crois que la Police ou la justice en general devraient faire une presentation publique pour de bon afin d' informer le peuple sur la seriousness du viol. C est devenu un phenomene banal. Cheque jour, quand on lit le journal, IL y a Aug moins un ou deux cas de viol. La defense de l homme est c etait consenti. Quelle ignorance!
