Kédougou : Des vents violents et de fortes pluies plongent Saraya et Fongolémy dans le noir
The National Electricity Company of Senegal (Senelec) has announced a temporary power outage in several localities in the Kédougou region. This follows severe weather disturbances that occurred during the night of Sunday, May 3rd to Monday, May 4th.
According to a statement from the Central-Eastern Regional Delegation of Senelec, violent winds accompanied by rain recorded around 10 p.m. caused an incident on the electrical network, resulting in a power outage in the areas of Saraya and Fongolémy.
Faced with this situation, the company's technical teams were immediately deployed to restore power as quickly as possible and limit the impact of this outage on the affected populations.
Senelec apologizes to users for the inconvenience caused by this interruption beyond its control, while assuring that all measures are being taken for a swift return to normal.
The company also invites its subscribers to contact its customer service, available 24/7, for any further information regarding the evolving situation.
This incident comes at a time when the first heavy rains and seasonal winds are already beginning to affect some infrastructure in the east of the country, highlighting the need for increased vigilance in the face of climate hazards.
