Keur Massar : Course-poursuite et saisie de 56 kg de drogue par la BRS de Dakar
The national police dealt a severe blow to drug trafficking in the suburbs of Dakar. On Saturday, February 8, 2026, the Dakar Regional Narcotics Brigade (BRS), under the Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS), carried out a major drug seizure in Apix Keur Massar, according to Seneweb sources.
The operation began following an anonymous tip about the activities of a drug dealer known as "Laye" in the criminal underworld. After several days of discreet surveillance, investigators identified the suspect's modus operandi: distribution from his home and deliveries in the Keur Massar and Pikine neighborhoods.
Yesterday morning, police officers observed EAF, 34, a livestock farmer, leaving his home on his motorcycle. When officers from the Dakar BRS (Brigade de Répression du Sécurité - Special Investigation Brigade) attempted to intercept him on the main road, the suspect fled, triggering a chase. He was eventually apprehended and found to be in possession of a mobile phone.
Led by the suspect to an isolated house where he was running a chicken coop, the police discovered the hiding place: three sisal bags filled with blocks of Indian hemp weighing a total of 56 kilograms according to Seneweb sources.
The search extended to his room, where 232,000 FCFA in cash and a deed of transfer of land to Apix extension worth 3,200,000 FCFA were found.
Faced with the incriminating evidence, EAF admitted his involvement in drug trafficking. He stated that he obtained his supplies from a man named F., based in Mbour, without providing further details about his supply network.
The suspect was taken into custody for possession and trafficking of marijuana. He was informed of his right to legal counsel. All the evidence (drugs, motorcycle, money, and phone) was seized and placed under seal as part of the investigation.
