Keur Moussa : Vol de matériel agricole estimé à 35 millions FCFA, les employés simulent un cambriolage
O. Bocoum and B. Touré are being prosecuted for the theft of a significant quantity of agricultural equipment, specifically drip irrigation pipes, valued at an estimated 35 million CFA francs. After committing the crime, they resold the merchandise to several farmers, including Mr. Diop, who was arrested for receiving stolen goods. The events took place in the town of Keur Moussa.
According to the plaintiff, B. Diop, the defendants had staged a burglary to cover up their theft. However, the employer managed to catch them in the trap, thus uncovering the deception and the truth about the missing equipment.
In court, the defendants admitted to the facts. O. Bocoum and B. Touré confessed to stealing the equipment in question. For his part, Mr. Diop stated that the thieves sold him five rolls of paper for 80,000 FCFA each. He claimed in his defense that the sellers had assured him they were acting on behalf of their boss to carry out the transaction.
The plaintiff, B. Diop, was keen to point out that the actual price of a roll is 100,000 FCFA, thus highlighting the fraudulent nature of the sale at a reduced price.
Considering the facts consistent and the evidence sufficient, the public prosecutor requested the application of the law against those involved.
The verdict is expected soon. The court will have to rule on the guilt of the defendants and determine the sentences related to the charges of theft and receiving stolen goods.
