Khar Yalla : Un nouveau-né découvert vivant au milieu d'un tas d’ordures
A shocking scene unfolded this Wednesday morning in the Khar Yalla neighborhood of Grand-Yoff. An abandoned newborn was discovered alive amidst a pile of garbage in the foundations of a building under construction, according to Seneweb sources.
According to the police investigation, it was housewife A. Fall who was alerted by two children aged around 13, while they were on their way to school. They reported the presence of a baby there. Upon going to the scene, A. Fall noticed that it was a newborn lying on the ground, its umbilical cord still attached. Shocked by the scene, she alerted the neighborhood, then the neighborhood delegate. The latter alerted the Grand-Yoff district police station.
Upon request, the director of the Idrissa Pouye General Hospital (HOGIP) in Grand-Yoff was called upon to provide medical care for the newborn. Firefighters evacuated him to this health facility.
The public prosecutor has been informed and an investigation has been opened to find the person or persons responsible for this abandonment.
