Kharakhéna : un éboulement fait deux morts
Landslides at gold mining sites in the "Land of Men" region continue to bring grief to families. A new tragedy has been added to the numerous victims recorded in recent days in the department of Saraya (Kédougou).
This Friday, around 6 p.m., another landslide occurred in the gold mining village of Kharakhéna, in the department of Saraya, resulting in two deaths, both of Malian nationality.
These gold panners had gone in search of the precious metal when they found themselves under the rubble of one of the "damas" (gold panning pits).
Having been informed of the tragedy, the police deployed to the scene to carry out the usual investigations before the lifeless bodies were taken to the Amath Dansokho Regional Hospital.
An investigation has been launched to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
