Korité : Le plan fou de trois jeunes pour s'acheter des habits neufs vire au cauchemar
In Tataguine, the desire to properly celebrate Korité led three young men, two of whom had just turned 18, to court. El HF, KS, and CD were tried in the act of committing a crime and theft in a group at the Fatick High Court.
On the eve of the holiday, the three defendants made a decision with serious consequences. According to their statements, they decided to steal in order to buy new clothes for Korité. To do so, they used a cart to steal two goats belonging to Mr. Diouf, intending to resell them.
But their plan quickly failed, as they were apprehended by the police shortly after the incident. In court, the defendants readily admitted to the acts.
The prosecutor argued that this was the beginning of organized crime. He requested a two-year prison sentence and a fine of 500,000 FCFA. However, at the end of the trial, the court acquitted the defendants of the charge of criminal conspiracy and reclassified the charges from cattle theft to receiving stolen goods. They were ultimately sentenced to three months in prison.
