KOUMPENTOUM : Un chauffeur arrêté pour avoir conduit une grue sans le permis C
On November 12th, at approximately 4:30 PM, officers from the Koumpentoum traffic police arrested Ablaye Niang, born on October 13, 2001, in Thiès. The arrest occurred during a traffic stop near the village of Saré Pathé. Ordered to pull over, the driver of a Renault crane truck with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 30,000 kg offered no resistance and complied.
During the vehicle registration check, the driver presented the police with a category A1, B, C1, BE, and C1E driver's license. Upon further examination, it was determined that driving a vehicle of this category and weight requires a category C license, which the driver did not possess. Informed of the infraction, the driver admitted to driving the vehicle without a category C license, believing his current license was sufficient.
He was brought before the prosecutor at the Tambacounda High Court on Thursday at the end of his legal period of police custody.
