Koungheul : Un incendie dévore huit cases et des tonnes de récoltes à Médina Ndiayène

A fire of exceptional intensity ravaged the village of Médina Ndiayène, in the commune of Gainth Pathé, on Sunday. Starting in the Keur Baye Saliou Ndiaye compound, the blaze destroyed more than eight houses, reducing the property of several families and tons of crops to ashes. The flames, fanned by the wind and the lack of a water source, quickly engulfed homes and belongings. The helpless villagers could only watch helplessly as they mourned their fate.

The material damage is extensive: more than five tons of peanuts and several tons of corn were destroyed. A mill, a bakery, tire inflation equipment, and breeding pigeons were also consumed by the flames. Hay intended for the livestock, belonging to Omar Ndiaye's family, was also completely burned. These assets represented not only income for the family, but also the culmination of several years of effort and labor, now reduced to nothing.

The affected families are making an urgent appeal to administrative and territorial authorities, as well as to anyone willing to help, for emergency aid. Above all, they are seeking a lasting solution to the recurring problem of access to water in the village.

The ashes that now litter Medina Ndiayène bear witness to a deep pain, but also to a cry for help: without concrete and sustainable access to water, the village remains vulnerable to any form of disaster.

Il faut très vite penser aux AKASSA avant de garder les récoltes
