Conflit foncier : Le maire de Nioro du Rip interpelle l'État face aux lotissements de Dabaly et Darou Salam
Land ownership is at the heart of tensions between the municipality of Nioro du Rip and its neighbors, Dabaly and Darou Salam. At the center of the dispute are land development projects deemed irregular by the municipal authorities of Nioro, who denounce a blatant encroachment on their territory.
According to the information provided, the municipality of Darou Salam has allegedly exceeded its territorial boundaries by more than three kilometers beyond its last village. This encroachment reportedly covers an area of over 600 hectares located in the eastern part of the municipality of Nioro.
Faced with what he considers a violation of his municipality's territorial integrity, the mayor of Nioro du Rip, Djim Momath Ba, has taken a firm stance. He announced that all legal measures will be taken to immediately halt the development, land subdivision, and construction projects undertaken by the municipalities of Dabaly and Darou Salam.
The mayor is now calling for urgent intervention from state authorities to clarify the municipal boundaries and restore calm to the area. Pending official clarification, work on the disputed sites should be suspended.
