Le CEMGA Mbaye Cissé fait ses adieux au détachement sénégalais déployé en Gambie
The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, General Mbaye Cissé, paid a farewell visit on January 21, 2026, to the Senegalese detachment deployed in the Republic of Gambia as part of the Mission of the Economic Community of West African States in Gambia (ECOMIG).
On this occasion, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces (CEMGA) commended the professionalism, discipline and commitment of the Senegalese military in carrying out their mission of stabilization and peacekeeping.
He also expressed his appreciation for the significant contribution of the Senegalese contingent to strengthening security and regional cooperation within the ECOWAS area.
This visit marks the end of General Mbaye Cissé's command, who urged the troops to continue their mission with the same sense of duty and operational excellence.
