Le journaliste Adama Sow sur l’affaire des présumés homosexuels : « Déçu, dégoûté mais pas surpris car… »
Journalist Adama Sow has expressed his reaction to the current media frenzy surrounding alleged homosexuals. In a post on his Facebook page this Monday, he said he was "disappointed, disgusted, but not surprised," recalling a deeply affecting episode from his career.
“It was because of a Téléscopie program I dedicated to LGBT networks, which was censored by the management at the time, that I made the decision to leave RTS. The program caused quite a stir after an article was published by the daily newspaper "Walf Grand Place," headed by the late Jean Meissa Diop and written by Ndèye Awa Lo, wife of our colleague Aliou Ndiaye, head of Pikini Prod. LGBT networks are very powerful and influential in Senegal,” he explained.
Adama Sow added: "The case that has been making headlines since this weekend is beyond comprehension and reveals the flaws and phenomena not addressed by Senegalese society."
While waiting to return to the subject, the former RTS journalist is calling on health authorities to get involved. "I urge Ms. Safiétou Thiam, President of the National Committee for the Fight Against AIDS, and the Minister of Health to get involved in this case and to manage the health aspect, which goes beyond the people arrested. This is no longer a criminal matter; it is a question of national health security and a social emergency," he declared.
