Freedom 6: Pregnant by her boyfriend, she fatally strangles her newborn and hides the body

A 23-year-old cleaning woman was brought before the prosecutor after killing her newborn baby and then attempting to conceal the birth by staging an abortion. This sordid affair came to light thanks to the vigilance of the medical staff at the Mamadou Diop Health Center in Liberté 6.

NN Diouf arrived at the health center in an emergency, writhing in pain. She complained of intense abdominal pain. The medical staff, intrigued, scheduled an ultrasound for her.

The examination will be compromising for her: the doctor discovers that she has just given birth. Cornered, the young woman initially denies it categorically, before half-heartedly admitting to having had an abortion. A version that no one believes.

The head of the health center did not hesitate and immediately alerted Commissioner Thioub, head of the Dieuppeul police station. Investigators went to the scene and arrested NN Diouf on March 15.

When questioned by investigators, the facade crumbled: she confessed to giving birth alone, then strangling her newborn with her own hands, according to Seneweb sources.

A search of his home in Liberté 6 led to the discovery of the infant's body.

Originally from Diamaguene Sicap-Mbao, where the child's father, her boyfriend, also lived, NN Diouf worked as a housekeeper in Liberté 6. A pregnancy clearly concealed, a solitary birth, an irreparable act. The baby's body was taken to the morgue at Idrissa Pouye General Hospital for an autopsy. The young woman has since been brought before the prosecutor for infanticide.
