Linguère : Ivre, il sectionne la main de son compagnon de beuverie à la machette
A violent brawl between two visibly intoxicated individuals nearly cost a 20-year-old man his hand near the central market in Linguère. The alleged perpetrator, arrested at the scene, is being prosecuted for possession and use of a bladed weapon, violence, assault, and battery, according to Seneweb sources.
Around 7 p.m., the Linguère police station was alerted to a violent fight between two individuals near the Linguère central market, in front of the Total gas station. Officers from the investigation unit rushed to the scene.
Upon arrival, they discovered two heavily intoxicated individuals lying on the ground. One of them, 20-year-old Babacar Samba Ba, a resident of Ndar Ndek, was seriously injured; his left hand was almost severed by a machete. He was taken to the emergency room at Magatte Lo Hospital in Linguère by firefighters.
A medical requisition was sent to the director of the facility. The alleged perpetrator, Boyel Sow, born on March 16, 2003, in Tally, in the department of Linguère, claiming to be a farmer residing in his birthplace, was taken to the police station and placed in custody. An investigation was opened.
For some time now, the only bar in Linguère has been closed. Deprived of their usual place of business, some customers have turned to a substitute drink known as "boul falé," called "rock water," whose effects on behavior are particularly feared. This substance, reputed to cause extreme aggression in those who consume it, is believed to be the cause of the brawl.
