Primes des Lions : la promesse de Diomaye Faye qui se fait attendre
On January 20, in an atmosphere of national fervor, after the Lions' victory in Morocco, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye announced the granting of exceptional bonuses to the double African champions, as well as to the entire technical staff and the official delegation.
In its edition of Friday, February 20, Les Échos reveals that a month later, the situation is disheartening: "no payment has yet been made." Those involved remain in limbo, having received nothing from the relevant authorities. Although those concerned are keeping quiet, the newspaper emphasizes that impatience is growing behind the scenes to receive what is owed.
The same source is therefore calling on the Senegalese head of state to intervene with his Minister of Finance, Cheikh Diba, in order to make this "national promise" a reality and to put an end to the uncertainty of the beneficiaries.
As a reminder, each player is to receive 75 million CFA francs, along with a 1,500 m² plot of land on the Petite Côte, a reward announced by President Bassirou Diomaye Faye. Members of the technical staff and the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) are to receive 50 million, while the other members of the national delegation will receive a bonus of 20 million.
