Gouvernance Locale : Lancement Officiel de l’Amicale des Agents Municipaux du Trésor (2AMT)
The Directorate General of Public Accounting and the Treasury has seen the creation of a new social structure: the Association of Municipal Treasury Agents (2AMT). The inaugural General Assembly was held this Saturday, marking the birth of this organization which brings together members from all tax offices in Senegal.
The Assembly, chaired by Ms. Sokhna Mbaye DIOP, Technical Advisor on behalf of the Director General, resulted in the election of Mr. Alioune CISS, from the Pikine Tax Office, as President for a four-year term.
The new President, Alioune Ciss, explained that the 2AMT aims to lay the foundations for a structured organization to actively participate in local governance. The association positions itself as a crucial link between the Treasury and local government stakeholders. The objective is clear: to strengthen ties between the Treasury and local authorities while serving as a framework for promoting public service. Mr. Ciss emphasized that the 2AMT will work hand in hand with the Directorate General to build a "strong, influential, and efficient Treasury."
Sokhna Mbaye Diop, representing Director General Amadou Tidiane Gaye Diop, welcomed the creation of the Association. She urged municipal employees to demonstrate greater integrity in their duties and to fully consider themselves worthy agents of the Treasury administration.
Recognizing municipal employees as essential local players, she urged them to embrace the organization's objectives and actively participate in the reform of administrative structures, a reform aimed at improving the quality of services for users. Ms. Diop concluded by calling for the preservation of cohesion and unity, advocating for a consensus that prioritizes "unity, solidarity, and camaraderie."
