«Locations fantômes» : un ancien député visé par plusieurs plaintes
In Guédiawaye, two fathers, K. Coulibaly and his neighbor, forced to urgently leave their cracked house in Golf-Sud, were victims of a rental scam involving a former deputy, SF, reports L'Observateur in its edition of Friday, November 28.
On October 18, under pressure from the urgency, they paid 300,000 CFA francs, equivalent to one month's deposit and one month's advance, to the former SF parliamentarian for the rental of an apartment in his R+3 building in Cité Golf Océan, according to the same source.
The newspaper reports that the former elected official had promised the premises would be available "in two weeks." But on the day the keys were to be handed over, SF cited unforeseen circumstances (such as the death of the bricklayer's mother), delaying the delivery by a month. Exasperated by the wait, the two men demanded their money back. Without success. The former member of parliament, after having theoretically agreed to the reimbursement, failed to comply.
The victims then filed a complaint at the Golf-Sud police station. The newspaper Groupe Futurs Médias, citing police sources, reveals that SF is the subject of numerous similar cases of phantom rentals and late reimbursements. A resident of the neighborhood, quoted by L'Observateur, confirms: "SF is always having problems with tenants."
Summoned by the police last Wednesday, the former MP arrived late and secretly deposited the 300,000 CFA francs owed before the plaintiffs returned.
The newspaper wonders what will happen next in this case: "How many more victims will have to shuttle between her building and the police station before the case is cleared up?"
