Louga: Un CRD consacré aux préparatifs du Magal de Thiéyène Djoloff
The governor of the Louga region, Ndèye Nguénar Mbodj, chaired a regional development committee meeting dedicated to preparations for the Magal of Thiéyène, scheduled for December 13th. The meeting was held in the presence of members of the organizing committee and all regional department heads. The organizers requested increased security from the gendarmerie and the deployment of health and hygiene personnel to ensure better healthcare for the local population and pilgrims during the event.
Regarding security, sanitation, and water management, the department heads made commitments to satisfy the organizing committee. The committee also raised other concerns related to paving the 18 km stretch of road in Boulal Thiéyène, electrifying the religious center, and upgrading the existing health post to a full-fledged health center. The regional governor instructed the prefect of Linguère and the sub-prefect of Sagatta Djoloff to ensure the implementation of the agreed-upon measures.
The chairman of the organizing committee, Cheikh Diop, praised the smooth running of the meeting and thanked the department heads who pledged to contribute to the success of the event.
The religious village of Thièyène Djoloff is located in the commune of Boulal in the department of Linguère. The event marks the period of house arrest of the founder of Mouridism in Thièyène from 1907 to 1912.
