Lutte contre le trafic de drogue : cinq individus interpellés à Sédhiou avec cinq kilos de chanvre indien
In execution of their mission to combat drug trafficking, the elements of the Sédhiou Territorial Brigade, at the Dianna Malary checkpoint, carried out operations on February 7 and 10, 2026. The information was confirmed to Seneweb by Colonel Ibrahima Ndiaye, head of the Communication and Public Relations Division of the National Gendarmerie.
The overall outcome of these operations is the arrest of five individuals, all of Senegalese nationality. Three of them were arrested for possession and trafficking of cannabis, while the other two were arrested for possession and use of cannabis.
The police seized five kilograms of Indian hemp as well as a motorcycle used to transport the drugs.
