The Mouride community is preparing to commemorate the birth of Serigne Mouhamadou Lamine Bara Mbacké ibn Khadim Rassoul. The 2025 edition of the Magal of Mbacké Kadior will be celebrated during the fortnight of November, a religious event of capital importance for the Mouride faithful.

It is within this framework that a departmental development committee (CDD) was held yesterday Wednesday in Kébémer, under the chairmanship of Prefect Ousseynou Mbaye. The meeting was attended by the president of the Magal organizing committee, Serigne Cheikh Thioro Mbacké, spokesperson for the caliph of Gouy-Mbinde, as well as numerous department heads, notables and local actors.

Repeated demands for the development of Mbacké Kadior

Beyond the religious preparations, local authorities have once again called for the opening of the gendarmerie brigade, the change of status of the health center and the paving of the Nghaye - Thilmakha section.

The Kébémer prefect reassured the public after the meeting, where several firm commitments were made by government departments to ensure the smooth running of the event. The head of the Darou Mousty gendarmerie brigade promised full security coverage two days before and two days after the Magal. Firefighters will also be mobilized to ensure civil security.

On the health front, the chief physician of the Darou Mousty district announced the provision of batches of medicines, the installation of advanced medical posts and the mobilization of medical personnel and ambulances.

Particular attention will be paid to hygiene and epidemiological surveillance, particularly due to the Rift Valley Fever (RVF) situation. Dusting, disinfection, and pest control operations at reception sites will be carried out to prevent any health risks, according to the prefect. Sanitation services will provide 20 mobile toilets and vacuum trucks, while Sonaged will ensure general cleaning of the municipality.

The water and forestry department will issue 10 logging permits and Ageroute will be asked to rehabilitate the roads leading to Mbacké Kadior.

The Food Security Commission will provide food supplies, while Sonatel will strengthen the telephone network. Customs will facilitate the movement of food for the Magal, and national services will contribute with logistics (tents, tarpaulins, chairs, etc.).

Prefect Ousseynou Mbaye concluded by reiterating his full commitment to the organizing committee. "We reaffirm our commitment to supporting the committee to ensure the success of Magal 2025. All requests, including the opening of the brigade, the transformation of the health center, the rehabilitation of roads, and the construction of a second borehole, will be forwarded to higher authorities for implementation," he assured.
