As part of the fight against drug trafficking and the protection of citizens, the Urban Security (SU) of the Dakar central police station frequently conducts patrols in the capital. It was in this context that Commissioner Ismaïla Goudiaby's men seized more than a kilogram of Indian hemp and nine stones of hashish, following the arrest of two dealers, according to Seneweb sources.
In possession of nine stones of hashish, motorcyclist Mr. Dieng had the misfortune of crossing paths with SU elements on the night of Thursday to Friday, around 3 a.m., in Ouest-Foire. While fleeing, the dealer made a false maneuver and fell from his scooter and lost consciousness. The security search resulted in the seizure of three stones of hashish. Evacuated to the Main Hospital by the bloodhounds, the doctor discovered seven other stones in his underwear. After receiving medical treatment, Mr. Dieng was taken into custody at the central police station.
In addition, patrol officers seized a kilogram of Indian hemp the same night in Colobane. Upon seeing the police, the suspect threw down his package and managed to slip away.
Still in this district of Dakar, the Urban Security arrested, yesterday Saturday, a man named CS Ndour in possession of 30 cones of "yamba".
Placed in police custody, the accused duo will probably be brought before the Dakar High Court tomorrow, Monday.
