Massacre à Tamba : un berger boit «un litre de whisky» et tue son frère à coups de machette, le juge le renvoie à…
The Criminal Chamber of Tambacounda examined on Wednesday a tragic case: the murder of Boubacar Bâ, killed by his younger brother A. Bâ (21 years old), with machete blows.
The events date back to the night of March 10, recounts L'Observateur, which attended the hearing. On their way back from a stream, an argument broke out between the two brothers. A. Bâ then struck his older brother several times with a machete. The autopsy revealed horrific injuries, including several skull fractures.
In his defense, the accused, quoted by the daily newspaper of the Future Media Group (Gfm), admitted the facts while claiming to have acted under the influence of acute intoxication: "I had drunk a liter of whiskey," he declared in court to explain his lack of lucidity.
Present at the trial, the father of the two men refused to become a civil party, leaving it to divine will in the face of the loss of his two sons (one dead, the other in prison).
Faced with the atrocity of the crime, the judge ultimately ordered a psychiatric evaluation before delivering his verdict, despite the prosecutor's request for a 10-year prison sentence. This examination must determine, within 30 days, whether the young shepherd was in his right mind at the time of the crime, the Gfm headline adds.
