Mbacké : Agression nocturne spectaculaire, un braqueur arrêté par la police avec sa machette

A particularly violent robbery attempt was foiled on the night of September 3 at around 3:00 a.m. by police in Mbacké. The rapid intervention of the search brigade's bloodhounds prevented the worst and allowed one of the attackers to be arrested.

An organized gang attack

The incident took place in the Palène district, on Iba Guèye road, where a peaceful citizen was walking home. Mr. Mbaye was suddenly intercepted by a group of four individuals armed with machetes, led by a certain Mr. Niang.

The attackers demanded that their victim hand over her cell phone and all her personal belongings. When Mr. Mbaye refused to comply with their demands, the situation quickly escalated.

Extreme violence and stab wounds

Faced with their victim's resistance, the attackers displayed unprecedented violence. They first punched Mr. Mbaye before a member of the group struck him in the back with a machete, injuring him.

Providential intervention by police officers on night patrol

By a fortunate coincidence, the police officers of the Research Brigade of the Mbacké urban police station, led by Commissioner Alioune Fall, were carrying out a routine patrol in the area at the precise moment when the attack took place.

The arrival of the police vehicle caused panic among the attackers, who immediately fled, abandoning their injured victim on the spot.

Chase and arrest

Despite their attempt to escape, the police launched a chase that resulted in the arrest of Mr. Niang, the alleged leader of the group. The suspect was apprehended in possession of his machete, thus constituting a key piece of evidence.

The three other members of the gang, identified through statements made by the arrested suspect, are actively being sought. They are:

- T. Sock

- Mr. Sène

- K. Diome

18-year-old suspect faces serious charges

The main suspect, Mr. Niang, aged just 18 and working as a metalworker, was taken into custody, according to Seneweb sources. He faces several particularly serious charges:

- Criminal association: for having acted as part of an organized gang

- Possession of bladed weapons: for the illegal carrying of a machete

- Attempted robbery in a group with violence committed at night: maximum aggravating circumstances

Search underway for accomplices

The police are actively continuing their investigations to locate and arrest the three fugitives. With their identities having been revealed by their accomplice, it should only be a matter of time before they, in turn, are brought to justice.

This case perfectly illustrates the effectiveness of night patrols carried out by security forces in the fight against urban crime, particularly armed attacks which terrorize the population.
