The Magal of Mbacké Kadior, commemorating the birth of Serigne Mouhamadou Lamine Bara Mbacké ibn Khadim Rassoul, will be celebrated on November 19.

In this context, the governor of Louga, Ndèye Nguenar Mbodj, chaired a Regional Development Committee (CRD) on Wednesday in the presence of the president of the organizing committee, Serigne Cheikh Thioro Mbacké, spokesperson for the Gouy-Mbind family.

The meeting brought together heads of regional and departmental services, local authorities, including the Mbacké Kadior town hall and the departmental council, as well as administrative authorities from the Kébémer department. A large delegation from Mbacké Kadior presented their demands for the success of this major religious event.

Firm commitments for the Magal

The heads of departments present, including those of health, security, livestock, hydraulics and Senelec, pledged to mobilize all necessary resources to ensure the smooth running of the Magal in the best possible conditions.

Beyond the immediate preparations, the organizing committee made several important requests: the opening of a gendarmerie brigade in Mbacké Kadior, the transformation of the current health center into a reference health center, and the rehabilitation of the Nghaye-Mékhé-Thilmakha road.

A field mission announced

In response to these concerns, the governor promised to organize a field mission composed of administrative authorities, local authorities, technical services, and the organizing committee. This mission will examine all grievances and identify those falling within the CRD's jurisdiction.

Regarding the Nghaye-Mékhé-Thilmakha road, Ndèye Nguenar Mbodj provided a reassuring response: "This complaint will be addressed immediately. An announcement has already been made by the authorities to assure you that in 2026, arrangements will be made for the start of this project."

The governor also announced a tour of all localities in the department of Kébémer in order to effectively address urgent concerns and transmit to higher authorities those requiring their intervention.
