On the night of February 12, 2026, the Mbour Unit of the Regional Narcotics Brigade (BRS) of Thiès, attached to the Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS), dismantled a drug storage point and arrested three people.

The operation followed the exploitation of operational intelligence reporting the landing of a large shipment of Indian hemp intended to supply the Thiadiaye area.

After discovering that the merchandise had already been moved from the initial landing point, investigators undertook a meticulous tracking operation.

A manhunt that leads to Ndioukh Fissel

By following the tire tracks of a suspicious cart for several kilometers, the officers were led to an enclosure located in the village of Ndioukh Fissel.

On site, they surprised three individuals: the two couriers identified at the landing stage and an accomplice who was waiting for them.

A thorough search of the enclosure uncovered five packages of Indian hemp, weighing a total of 134.4 kilograms. The drugs were carefully concealed under a pile of fodder (millet stalks) to evade police detection.

The three suspects have been taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing to identify other branches of this trafficking network.
