Miracle à la Cité Bissap : un bébé extrait des tuyaux d’évacuation des toilettes, sa mère est une…
A newborn girl was narrowly saved from a horrific death last Saturday, shortly after midnight, in the "Cité Bissap" neighborhood. After an intervention lasting about thirty minutes, firefighters managed to extract the baby from the toilet drainpipes into which her mother had thrown her.
The woman's name is K. Faye. She is a student. She gave birth alone in the bathroom of their home. It was her sister, with whom she lives, who discovered the horrific situation. Noticing that K. Faye was taking a long time to return, she went to the bathroom after hearing the cries of a newborn baby.
"She discovered her sister covered in blood and realized that the newborn had already been slipped into the toilet," reports Libération, which relayed this story.
The fire department and the HLM-Biscuiterie police station were alerted. Police officers confirmed the situation. Firefighters dismantled the evacuation system and recovered the baby, who appeared weak but alive, according to Libération. The newspaper reported that the child was taken to Idrissa Pouye Hospital in Grand-Yoff and that an investigation has been opened.
