Montée des eaux du fleuve Sénégal à Matam : Lobaly se met déjà dans le scénario du pire
The 8m alert level has been exceeded by 14 cm in Matam as a result of the rising Senegal River. This situation has rekindled concerns among residents who had experienced flooding related to the floods.
In the commune of Bokiladji, the village of Lobaly is already facing a worst-case scenario. Last year, the town was cut off from the rest of the commune for 21 days.
This fear is all the more well-founded because the road to Dembancané has become impassable.
Commuters use a slip road to reach the commune of Semmé. "We fear that this road will also deteriorate due to the rains and that the village will be isolated like last year," warned the mayor of the commune of Bokiladji.
On the airwaves of Rfm, Bacar Dia, the town councilor, called on the administrative authorities to take diligent measures. He urged the public authorities to provide the village with "floating ambulances, motorized canoes, and life jackets" to deal with the anticipated inconveniences.
