Mort d’Abdoulaye Ba : Guy Marius Sagna veut un contrôle renforcé des forces de sécurité
Following the death of student Abdoulaye Ba, MP Guy Marius Sagna stated that justice must be served without delay. "Justice for Abdoulaye Ba. It is not an option but an obligation," he affirmed in a post on his social media accounts this Friday, February 13.
In his statement, the elected official evokes a collective responsibility and believes that vigilance was lacking, particularly in the oversight of the actions of the defense and security forces (FDS) during the "political transition." "It is impossible to transform FDS forces that have been colonial and neo-colonial for over 60 years in less than two years," he argues, calling for their use to be characterized by "great caution and care."
Guy Marius Sagna also draws a parallel with previous regimes, recalling twelve years marked, according to him, by the deaths of Senegalese citizens in a climate of silence and institutional denial. "When a Senegalese person was murdered, the activists of the ruling party remained silent, as did members of the executive branch," he denounces, pointing to "false autopsy results" and the attitude of "certain prosecutors."
