Assemblée nationale : La plateforme NAY LÉÉR exige la lumière sur les véhicules des députés

The citizen platform NAY LÉÉR, a collective committed to transparency and good governance, sent an open letter to several figures in parliament, including Ayib Daffé, Thierno Alassane Sall, Pape Djibril Fall, Anta Babacar Ngom...

In this letter, the members of the platform express their deep concern over persistent reports concerning the acquisition of company vehicles valued at an estimated 50 million CFA francs each.

This affair, which has been shaking national and international public opinion for several weeks, has been exacerbated by the statements of MP Kaba Diakité, who directly accuses the president of the National Assembly of mismanagement and squandering of public resources.

However, the platform specifies that no official procedure has yet made it possible to confirm or deny these accusations, thus creating a vagueness which weakens the credibility of the parliamentary institution and fosters a climate of suspicion which is detrimental to the Republic.

To dispel these doubts, NAY LÉÉR calls on members of parliament to take strong parliamentary initiatives, such as establishing a commission of inquiry, deploying an information mission, organizing hearings, or referring the matter to the Court of Auditors. These steps would aim to examine the appropriateness of such a purchase in the current economic climate, verify the strict compliance of the operations with public procurement regulations, and hear from all parties involved, including MP Kaba Diakité, in order to establish the facts through a process of due process.

For NAY LÉÉR, such a transparent approach is essential to preserve the honor of the National Assembly and guarantee the fundamental right of citizens to information.

Recalling that the requirement for accountability must apply to everyone without exception, the platform concludes by reaffirming its commitment to the motto "jub jubal joubanti" (a play on words combining "jub" and "joubanti," meaning "one who is accountable"). It urges elected officials to act without delay to restore citizens' trust in their institutions.
