Hadara nationale : Le vibrant plaidoyer de Serigne Sidy Ahmed Sy pour les 18 supporters détenus au Maroc
Religious fervor gripped the city of Thiès, known for its two train stations, this Friday afternoon, April 10, 2026, for the 7th edition of the National Hadara, organized at the Promenade des Thiessois (formerly Place de France) by the Dahiratoul Abnaou Hadara Tidianiyya of Thiès. This important spiritual gathering of the Tidiane brotherhood was presided over by Serigne Sidy Ahmed Sy, an influential religious figure within the Tidiane family.
In an atmosphere of solemnity and devotion, marked by collective prayers, the religious leader took the opportunity to address the situation of the 18 Senegalese football supporters currently detained in Morocco. Serigne Sidy Ahmed Sy recalled the historical and fraternal ties that unite Senegalese and Moroccans, emphasizing the strength of this diplomatic and cultural relationship, often cited as an example in Africa.
Concerned by the delays in the release proceedings, the religious leader asked, "Where is the real obstacle?" He called for a swift clarification of the case and, in his plea, emphasized the crucial role that the Moroccan monarch, Mohammed VI, could play. Serigne Sidy Ahmed Sy believes that, given the deep friendship between the two nations, the King could, through a highly symbolic gesture, facilitate the release of the 18 Senegalese nationals.
He did not fail to reiterate his commitment to the excellent relations between Dakar and Rabat, calling for their consolidation through strong actions, particularly in the management of this matter.
