The Dakar Regional Narcotics Brigade of OCRTIS, supported by the Multi-Purpose Intervention Brigade (BIP), carried out a major operation on the night of August 7, 2025 in Ngor, resulting in the dismantling of an active drug trafficking network.

Seventeen arrests of all profiles

The operation resulted in the arrest of 17 individuals with varied profiles: students, delivery drivers, footballers, municipal agents and others, demonstrating the social diversity of this trafficking network, Seneweb has learned.

Significant seizures of narcotics and equipment

The police made significant seizures:

- 54 crack stones

- 3 balls of hashish

- Drug packaging material

Seized goods and equipment

In addition to the narcotics, investigators also seized:

- 5 scooter-type motorcycles

- 123,000 CFA francs in cash

- 9 iPhone phones, 2 Tecno and 4 simple phones

- 1 computer (iPad)

Operation based on precise information

This intervention follows operational intelligence confirming the existence of open-air trafficking and numerous assaults in the Ngor sector. Several drug dealing points had been located following targeted reconnaissance missions conducted by specialized forces.

Charges against the suspects

The 17 suspects were taken into custody for:

- Criminal association

- Possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking

- Destruction of property belonging to others

This operation demonstrates the determination of law enforcement to effectively combat the drug networks that plague certain districts of the Senegalese capital.
