Niague : Le GLAD saisit 1,202 kg de cocaïne et interpelle trois trafiquants internationaux
As part of the fight against drug trafficking, members of the National Gendarmerie's Anti-Drug Unit (GLAD), supported by the Niague Special Brigade, dismantled an international cocaine trafficking network. Three Senegalese nationals were arrested between May 19 and 21, 2026, according to information obtained by Seneweb from Colonel Ibrahima Ndiaye, head of the National Gendarmerie's Communications Division. The quantity of drugs seized amounted to 1.202 kg of cocaine, confirming the scale of the network dismantled.
The three suspects were brought before Prosecutor Cheikh Diakhoumpa, head of the Rufisque prosecutor's office, on Friday, who requested the opening of a judicial investigation. The accused were remanded in custody by the investigating judge of the first chamber.
