Niague : Un dealer se procure un pistolet à Touba pour affronter les gendarmes lors de son arrestation
The research brigade of the Keur Massar gendarmerie company has dismantled a major drug trafficking network. The skillfully conducted operation led to the arrest of a dealer who was hiding his merchandise in a chicken coop and was in possession of a firearm.
As part of the fight against delinquency and crime, the gendarmes of Keur Massar infiltrated a drug trafficking network operating in Niague. Their target: S. Cissokho, suspected of selling various drugs, including Indian hemp and ecstasy (commonly known as "volet"), from his chicken coop.
To catch the suspect, investigators implemented a strategy of approach. They placed an order for 15 ecstasy pills with the dealer.
Suspecting nothing, S. Cissokho arranged a meeting for the delivery of the order. After many hours of waiting, having reassured himself of his safety, the dealer finally appeared with the ordered drugs.
But at the time of his arrest, the suspect took advantage of the darkness to get rid of the 15 ecstasy pills by throwing them on the ground.
A successful search of the henhouse
Following the arrest, the police searched the suspect's chicken coop. This operation proved particularly fruitful. Investigators discovered 2.5 kg of cannabis hidden in a colored plastic bag.
But the surprises didn't end there. An unexpected discovery was made: an automatic pistol (PA) type firearm, accompanied by two 6mm caliber rounds and a 12/7 cartridge case, according to Seneweb sources.
When questioned about the origin of these various illicit products, S. Cissokho initially tried to downplay his involvement. He claimed to be a simple consumer and asserted that he did not know the identity of his supplier, whom he said he usually met at Malika beach.
However, the in-depth investigations carried out by the gendarmes revealed a completely different reality. S. Cissokho had been involved in trafficking Indian hemp for more than two years.
A weapon to protect oneself from law enforcement
Investigators also discovered that, to secure his criminal activities, the dealer had acquired a firearm on the black market in Touba. His objective: to defend himself in case of a police raid.
At the end of this operation, the police seized:
A quantity of 2.5 kg of Indian hemp
A firearm of the automatic pistol type
Two 6mm caliber rounds
A 12/7 ammunition case.
Held in police custody since November 21, 2025, suspect S. Cissokho will likely be brought before the Rufisque High Court this Monday. He will face charges of drug trafficking and illegal possession of a firearm.
