Non-violence, citoyenneté, patriotisme : Les anciens élèves de Camp Faidherbe veulent marquer leur engagement envers la jeunesse
A strong mobilization around the values of citizenship, patriotism, and non-violence. This is the challenge that the Association of Former Students of the Camp Faidherbe Primary School in Thiès has successfully achieved, through a civic hike organized along the main arteries of the railway city.
The event, under the banner of unity, citizenship, patriotism and fraternity, carried three strong messages: "No to violence, in order to promote peace, mutual respect and the spirit of national unity"; "Respect for our national anthem, to remind every citizen of the sacred duty to honor the symbols of the Republic"; "Declare the child from birth: a strong call to protect the fundamental rights of each child and to ensure their civic recognition from the first days of life."
Through this civic activity, the association says it wants to demonstrate its commitment to youth, citizenship, and social development. It intends to continue to lead strong initiatives in the service of the community, education, and solidarity.
Algassimou Kouyaté, known as "Thié," president of the association, recalled that "civic education begins in childhood" and noted a number of challenges related to "late registration" and "material constraints," among others. He also recalled that "civil registration, civic education, and respect for the nation are the pillars of a solid future."
