To mark the launch of Pink October, a month dedicated to raising awareness and combating breast cancer, Bougane Gueye Dany has published a moving tribute to his wife Momy Seck, who died two years ago from the disease.
In a message shared on October 1, the founder of the D-Media group and leader of the "Gueum Sa Bopp" movement reflects on the fight of his partner, whom he describes as a figure of courage and light.
“This month will forever bear your name, Momy, for you were its courageous embodiment,” he wrote.
October 5th will mark the second anniversary of her passing. For Bougane Gueye, this date remains a raw wound, but also a reminder of the love and strength Momy embodied throughout her struggle.
“Your memory is a light: your strength, your smile, your love continue to guide my steps,” he confides in this message filled with tenderness.
Beyond personal grief, Bougane Gueye transforms Pink October into a collective call for remembrance and mobilization. He reminds us that this campaign is much more than a symbol: it is a cry, a tribute to all the women fighting breast cancer.
“Your name, Momy Dany, will always resonate as a victory of love over oblivion,” he concluded.
