Journées portes ouvertes dans le secteur des mines : Une première au Sénégal depuis les indépendances
The Minister of Energy, Petroleum and Mines, Birame Souleye Diop, chaired, this Thursday, September 18, 2025, in Thiès, the launching ceremony of the series of open days (JPO) devoted exclusively to the mining sector, which are held successively in the west, center, southeast and north of the country, from September 18 to 26, 2025.
This is to meet the growing expectations of the population and the challenges linked to responsible exploitation, so that the mineral wealth of the subsoil fully benefits the populations and actively participates in the construction of sustainable, harmonious and sovereign development.
According to the minister, since Senegal's independence, this is the first time that open days on the mining sector have been organized across the national territory, under the aegis of the President of the Republic and his Prime Minister, who have agreed to support this initiative.
Inclusive, educational days of support and advice, activities, exchanges, communication between partners, operators, civil society, community and state representatives, to establish a constructive dialogue.
According to the Minister of Mines, "for the past year, we have conducted, in accordance with the vision of the President of the Republic, a comprehensive audit of mining titles in all 14 regions of Senegal, with the objective of highlighting the sometimes difficult, but necessary realities to face, to know the first thing that must be done to be able to act and we wanted to have the right information to make the right decisions."
Birame Souleye Diop says he wants "us to work together to provide answers and support operators." He assures us that "all local authorities and communities can find in us an advocate, a defender of their interests. Above all, we must tell those who cannot speak, who have no say regarding the environment, that we are their defender and their advocate."
For operators, "we are their defender and their advocate, in the sense that we will simply remind them of the legal requirements and guide them on the path to legal compliance," he continues.
The Minister spoke of respect for sustainability and environmental preservation, to meet the legitimate expectations of local communities, but also so that "the State, guarantor of our security and well-being for all, investors, civil society, local communities, local authorities, can play this role of guarantor of the legitimate interest of the entire nation."

Une première parce que Macky Sall a tout préparé avant votre accession au pouvoir.
Vous avez trouvé que tout a été fait. Si le pétrole n'était pas exploité il n'y aurait pas de journée portes ouvertes.
Pourtant Sonko mentait que le pétrole était exploité à Thiès depuis 2008.
Ce ces mensonges qui font que rien ne marche pour lui. Il fait le tour du monde pour quémander alors qu'il disait que le Sénégal a toutes les ressources et n'a besoin de personne.
C'est le karma qui s'abat sur Sonko.
Bon courage. Les minerais doivent être transformés sur place si nous voulons vraiment que ça profite au pays. Le processus nécessite beaucoup d’énergie. C’est peut être la raison pour laquelle on associe souvent les mines et l’énergie dans un même ministère.
Si on a le fer et qu’on importe l’acier, si on a le phosphate et qu’on importe l’urée, si on a de l’or et qu’on n’a pas de raffinerie pour nos bijoutiers qui sont parmi les meilleurs au monde, si on a le pétrole et le gaz et qu’on importe les produits pétroliers finis, il reste encore beaucoup à faire.
Mais l’adage dit qu’un problème bien posé est à moitié résolu.
Donc bon courage
Ce ministre est NUL.
Bientôt , ces nullards et analphabètes diront qu'ils ont créé l'univers ! Vivement qu'un petit capitaine les renvoient au GNOUF !
Comme i, s ils sont a l'origine de ces exploitation minière et pétrolière, toujours du populisme pour exister, c'est dommage
