Criminalité organisée : 9 malfaiteurs tombent dans les filets de la gendarmerie à Sangalkam
The Sangalkam territorial brigade, supported by a squadron of the Gendarmerie Intervention Legion (LGI), carried out a major operation to combat organized crime on the night of Sunday, October 26, 2025. A criminal network was dismantled in the area, Seneweb learned from sources close to the command, and nine individuals were arrested for criminal conspiracy, illegal possession of category 5 weapons, and drug trafficking. During searches carried out at the suspects' homes, investigators seized 825g of Indian hemp, 74,950 CFA francs in cash, and several bladed weapons.
According to Colonel Ibrahima Ndiaye, this intervention is part of the national system for the prevention and repression of organized crime. The investigation is ongoing to determine the extent of the network and any possible accomplices.
