Parcelles-Assainies : Un Égyptien arrêté avec de la drogue
An Egyptian national was arrested on the night of Thursday, January 29, around midnight in unit 26 of Parcelles-Assainies for possession for the purpose of using hashish.
The arrest was carried out by members of the Research and Intervention Brigade of the Parcelles-Assainies district police station.
A suspicious attitude that betrays the suspect
It was during a security patrol in the area, particularly at roundabout 26 in Parcelles-Assainies, that police officers encountered the suspect by chance. The man, identified by the initials BK, approximately 30 years old and working as a delivery driver, acted suspiciously upon seeing the officers.
After being stopped and given a pat-down, three balls of hashish, each weighing 0.5 grams, were found in his trouser pocket. The suspect, a resident of Ouest Foire, was immediately subdued and taken to the station.
When questioned, the suspect admitted to the charges against him. He stated that he had bought the drugs for 7000 CFA francs for his own use from a man named Mouhamed whom he had met by chance in front of a pharmacy in Ouest Foire.
The suspect was taken into custody for possession of hashish for personal use, according to Seneweb sources. The seized drugs were impounded at the police station for the purposes of the ongoing investigation. The public prosecutor was informed of the arrest.
