PÉNURIE D'EAU À DAROU KHOUDOSS : La mairie explique la cause
The Darou Khoudoss town hall has provided an explanation for the ongoing water shortage in the municipality. According to the municipality, it is due to a technical problem between two boreholes that supply the town.
"Well 5, which serves as a backup for well 8, was temporarily shut down for maintenance work. During this period, well 8 alone was not sufficient to meet the needs of the entire population. Even after well 5 was restarted, the operating instructions were not properly applied by the management service, which prolonged the supply difficulties," explains the town hall.
She claims to have contacted the Chemical Industries of Senegal (ICS) for urgent action regarding this water shortage. "As soon as it was informed, the mayor's office contacted the management of ICS to demand immediate measures to restore the normal water supply. The mayor's office is monitoring the situation very closely and assures the population that everything is being done for a swift return to normal," she says.
The Darou Khoudoss town hall also announces ongoing projects with the water services to create new boreholes and install a water tower.
"Furthermore, the town hall recently received a mission from the hydraulic engineering services regarding the installation of new boreholes intended to sustainably strengthen the water supply of the municipality. This situation confirms the need to put the new borehole in Darou Khoudoss into service and to equip the municipality with a water tower to guarantee a stable and sustainable supply," the town hall announced.
She apologizes to the residents and promises a quick return to normal.
