Pikine : La BRS de Dakar démantèle une filière d'ecstasy alimentée depuis la Gambie
Acting on operational intelligence, officers from the Dakar Regional Narcotics Brigade (BRS) apprehended a young tailor named M. Fall (22 years old), residing in Pikine. He is suspected of transporting ecstasy from The Gambia. The operation resulted in the seizure of 100 tablets.
On Saturday, June 6, 2026, this unit of the Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS) acted on operational intelligence indicating that an individual was due to return from Gambia in the morning with a large quantity of ecstasy intended for one of his dealers in Pikine.
A simulated purchase of five tablets was carried out. The area around the EDK station in Pikine was chosen as the location for the transaction, where a surveillance and tracking system was deployed.
After a few minutes of waiting, the suspect was spotted nearby, pacing back and forth. He matched the description provided by the source. He was apprehended immediately. A pat-down search revealed 75 ecstasy tablets.
At the suspect's home, police discovered 25 more pills, bringing the total to 100 ecstasy tablets. Under brief questioning, the trafficker admitted to having returned from Gambia with the drugs that same morning.
After being informed of his right to be assisted by counsel of his choice, he was taken into custody. He is being prosecuted for possession and trafficking of drugs. The seized drugs were placed under seal, and Prosecutor Saliou Dicko was informed of the facts.
