Plateau : un ingénieur de bateau égyptien et deux taximen arrêtés pour trafic de haschisch
A security operation conducted during the night of February 21-22, 2026, enabled officers from the Research Brigade of the Plateau District Police Station to dismantle a drug trafficking network. Three individuals were arrested at 2:00 a.m. for possession and distribution of hashish.
It all started with a patrol on Vincent Street
The case broke during a routine patrol on Rue Vincent. Police officers arrested S. Mouhamed, 37, an Egyptian marine engineer who was visiting Dakar. A body search proved revealing: a small ball of hashish was discovered, carefully concealed in a pack of cigarettes, according to Seneweb sources.
Faced with this discovery, the accused quickly revealed the name of his supplier: a taxi driver.
The supply chain is collapsing one after another.
The designated taxi driver, I. Guèye, 54, residing in Guédiawaye, was quickly located and arrested. He admitted to investigators that he had been supplied with drugs by M. Niang, 57, also a taxi driver, residing in Ndiarème, Guédiawaye. Niang was immediately apprehended. Cornered, he in turn named a certain Y. as his own supplier, thus opening a new lead for investigators.
The three suspects were taken into custody at the Plateau district police station for possession and distribution of hashish.
When questioned, they readily admitted to the charges against them. An investigation has been launched to identify and apprehend the other members of this network.
