Podor : Un mort et deux blessés graves dans une collision à Ndiayène Pendao
A serious traffic accident occurred on Sunday night on National Route No. 2, near the village of Figgo, in the commune of Ndiayène Pendao, department of Podor.
According to initial reports from the scene, two Jakarta-type motorcycles collided in particularly violent circumstances. One of the drivers reportedly attempted to overtake a truck while traveling in the same direction. It was during this maneuver that he encountered another motorcycle approaching from the opposite direction.
The impact was extremely violent. All three motorcyclists involved were seriously injured. One of them, identified as Thierno Dia, approximately 23 years old, died at the scene before emergency services arrived.
The accident also caused significant material damage. After the collision, one of the motorcycles ended up under a truck, starting a fire. Firefighters from Podor, who arrived quickly, managed to control the flames and prevent the fire from spreading.
Upon being informed of the tragedy, the gendarmerie officers went to the scene to conduct the usual investigations. The commander of the Podor company, Captain Alioune Diouf, supervised the initial inquiries aimed at precisely determining the causes of the accident.
The victim's body was taken to the morgue at the Ahmadou Malick Gaye Health Center in Podor. An investigation is underway.
