Pout : Un soudeur arrêté avec huit cornets de chanvre indien
Twenty-one-year-old welder S. Ndiaye was arrested in Pout in possession of eight packets of marijuana. Charged with drug trafficking or offering drugs, he was remanded in custody at Thiès prison. He appeared before the Thiès court on Friday, May 15.
In court, he admitted to having only one cone of cigarettes, purchased for 2,500 CFA francs from an individual in Sindia, for his personal consumption.
The judge reminded him, however, that the investigation had revealed eight packets of cigarettes found in his possession, as well as a large sum of money suspected of being drug proceeds. Despite this, the young man maintained his denials. But the public prosecutor requested that the law be applied.
The case has been adjourned for deliberation.
