RÉHABILITATION DE LA FRESQUE DE PAPA IBRA TALL : La mairie de Thiès apporte des éléments de preuve montrant l'implication des MSAD
Following clarifications by Mayor Babacar Diop, the Thiès town hall provided evidence attesting to the effective involvement of the Senegalese Manufactures of Decorative Arts (MSAD) in the project to restore the mural created by Papa Ibra Tall at Place de France.
With supporting images taken at the site housing the fresco, the town hall asserts that the former director general of MSAD, Aloïse Ndam Diouf, took an active part in the project to restore this work of art.
"In this capacity, he notably participated in several working meetings chaired by the mayor at City Hall, as part of the preparation and monitoring of this restoration project. In addition, he had carried out a site visit to Place de France in the company of the mayor, the architects, the control and monitoring firm, as well as the city's technical services.
According to the town hall, this visit was part of the program to restore and enhance this iconic work.
"All these actions constitute tangible proof of the effective involvement of the MSAD, associated from the beginning with the implementation of the vast program for the rehabilitation and requalification of the Place de France, in a dynamic of preserving and enhancing this major artistic heritage," insisted the Thiès town hall.
